Adtran & CCS 128k Configuration


This document outlines the steps necessary to place calls at a data rate of 64k per B channel for 128k codec operation..This change is necessary when dialing Suite Sync in Mexico City via EDnet's Houston bridge or when calling non-affiliates configured for 128k (non-bonding). All other EDnet sites are currently 56k, so reconfiguration must also take place before dialing a normal EDnet site after a session with Suite Sync or other 128k site. 1. If the display does not read 2x64 -UIFC press Cancel until it does.

2. Press the Enter key so that the menu is displayed

3. Press 3 followed by Enter so that Configuration is selected.

4. Press 4 followed by Enter so that Quick Setup is selected.

5. dte #1 should be flashing at the top right of the display. Press Enter.

6. Press 2 followed by Enter so that Dial 64k Sync is selected. The display will briefly read
Command Executed and will return to the Quick Setup menu with dte#1 flashing.

7. Press 2 followed by Enter so that dte #2 is selected.

8. Again press 2 followed by Enter so that Dial 64k Sync is selected. The display will again read Command Executed .

9. Press Cancel until you return to the main screen with 2x64 -UIFC displayed. The unit is

now ready for 64k operation.
Now switch the data rate knob on your CDQ2000 audio codec from 112k to 128k.
To switch back to normal 56k operation follow the above instructions substituting the following for steps 6 and 8:
6. Press 1 followed by Enter so that Dial 56k Sync is selected. The display will briefly readCommand Executed and will return to the Quick Setup menu with dte#1 flashing.

8. Again press 1 followed by Enter so that Dial 56k Sync is selected. The display will again read Command Executed .
Now switch the data rate knob on your CDQ2000 audio codec from 128k to 112k.
