In a perfect world, one codec can connect directly to another, but in the real world technical jumble of modern networks and electronics, sometimes incompatibilities are encountered. When equipment on each end of the connection use different data compression algorithms our Edlink audio bridge stands ready to make your session happen seamlessly.

EDnet strives to connect virtually “anything to anything”. Here is the list of “incompatible” codecs and services we currently interconnect, and we are continuallly looking for ways to increase this list.

DolbyFax, AC2 and AC3 and DolbyL2

APTx and eAPTx (Prolink, Milano, DRT, Mayah, Tokyo, Eclipse, Suprima)

MPEG (Layer 2, Layer 3, AAC, AAC-HE, AAC-LD)–Telos: Zephyr classic, Xstream, Zephyr IP. MusicamUSA/CCS: CDQ2000, Prima (110, 120, 210, 220, 230, LT, LT+, Suprima, Roadrunner, Roadwarrior). Prodys: Pronto/ Prontonet, Mayah: C11 series, Centauri series. AudioTX and many others!

g.722 (any ISDN capable g.722 codec, as well as Comrex’s Turbo G.722 codec.
